The thinking behind the experience

Our work moves through briefing, communication strategy, creative experience, detailed planning, kickoff and production, then documentation and learning. Each stage serves a purpose:

·   Briefing and strategy establish what the experience needs to achieve. We explore the business objective alongside employees’ needs and perspectives, including what might prevent them from engaging. This helps us define the understanding or action the communication needs to support. Where needed, we recommend enhancements to the initiative itself, such as making participation easier or its benefit clearer. The result is a direction grounded in both the organization’s ambition and employees’ reality.

·   The creative experience gives the strategy an expression people can connect with. We develop the concept, visuals and activations around that direction, considering how employees will encounter and participate in the idea. A theme should give meaning to the experience, with activities that help people explore the message for themselves. This keeps creative choices purposeful and gives employees a recognizable story to follow across different interactions.

·   Planning and delivery connect every interaction. We map the communication experience, coordinate its timing, and translate it into a detailed plan for production and execution. Each touchpoint has a role: preparing people, helping them participate, or reinforcing what comes next. Planning these connections helps prevent gaps between an engaging launch and the experience that follows, so employees can move through the journey with a clear sense of purpose and direction.

·   Documentation turns delivery into learning. We capture the experience and its results, looking at participation and feedback where available to understand what worked and what needs attention. This helps us distinguish between delivering an experience successfully and achieving the intended employee response. By recording lessons and identifying improvements, we give the next initiative a stronger starting point and build on what we have learned about the audience.

This connection between strategy, creativity and delivery defines our approach. The purpose established in the brief should remain visible in the smallest interaction an employee encounters.

For campaigns and events, that same discipline serves two different opportunities.

Internal campaigns: Build involvement over time

A campaign gives an idea room to develop. Employees can encounter it, explore its relevance, participate, and return with a deeper understanding.

At DOTMENT, we design that progression deliberately. The strategy establishes the understanding or action we want to support. The creative concept gives employees a compelling to engage with it. The communication journey then determines how their involvement can grow.

That is why we consider the sequence as carefully as the individual message. A teaser creates curiosity. A launch makes the purpose clear. An activity lets employees experience it for themselves. Follow-up gives them a reason to stay involved.

We also examine the initiative behind the communication. If joining is difficult or the benefit is unclear, those barriers deserve attention within the solution.

Our guiding principle: every interaction should give employees a reason to take the next step.

In practice: The Kingdom’s Treasure at SNB Capital

For Saudi National Day, the brief centered on creating a light, memorable experience that connected employees with both the spirit of the occasion and SNB Capital’s role in the Kingdom’s progress. The strategic opportunity was to help employees see a connection between national achievement and the organization they belong to.

That connection shaped The Kingdom’s Treasure, a five-day digital treasure hunt. We built riddles and challenges around Saudi Arabia’s achievements and SNB Capital’s contribution to its economic future. The choice of content mattered: a general National Day quiz could have celebrated the occasion while leaving employees’ connection to SNB Capital unexplored.

We then designed a journey that gave employees reasons to return. A teaser introduced the adventure, followed by daily challenges, each unlocking a digital badge. The badges made progress visible and encouraged employees to collect the full set. This gave the five-day campaign a sense of progression, with each interaction building on the previous one. The visuals followed the official Saudi National Day guidelines, keeping the experience rooted in the occasion.

The campaign achieved around 70% participation, which SNB Capital reported as its highest internal campaign engagement rate to date.

The approach connected purpose with participation: the questions carried the meaning, while the daily structure sustained the invitation to engage. Without that connection, the activity risked becoming an enjoyable game with little relevance beyond the celebration.
